A site has been started to help beginners find out answers to oft-asked questions. Keith Sheperd,
the man responsible for starting the site, is hoping to have contributions by the Darwin community
to keep it expanding. Please check out the site and if there is an area of documentation or some
wisdom you can share with the web send it in. Here is the unofficial announcement:
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am trying to get a Darwin OS
Beginners guide web page up and running. I am new to the whole Darwin/UNIX
world and I have been try to figure some things out. I could not find any
source of decent information on Darwin secifically so I decided that I
would try and compile some of the stuff I have figured out so far. The
current webpage is at
It is far from being a complete Beginners guide, but it is a start. Since
I am new to Darwin there are many things that I still have no clue how to
do. If you have any tip and or information that you would like to
contribute to the web page please send it my way. Not only would I
appreciate it, but others who might run across my page might as well.
There is so much to learn, and with out any docs it is really hard to get
started as a beginner, so hopefully eventually this web site will serve as
a simple collection of knowledge that might help others out.
Thanks!
Keith
